I have been having a tough time blogging lately.  A few weeks ago I made a resolution to blog shorter and more frequently, and so far, I have failed at this.  Maybe it's because I have developed a certain style of writing and can not shift that easily.

It also definitely has to do with my work schedule.  The downturn in the market has caused us at iLab Ventures to focus more intently on our portfolio and I am now involved at a higher level with the operations across the portfolio.

Nevertheless, blogging has been a critical tool for me in doing my job.  It helps me track my thoughts across many facets and participate in the global conversation on venture investing.  As my posts decline, I feel I am missing out on a part of that conversation.

So, once again, I resolve to blog more frequently.  I am also considering blogging in Turkish from time to time.  It makes a lot of sense to blog in the native language of my home and principal target market. I will have to see if it feels natural.

I stand behind the idea that shorter posts are more efficient even though it sometimes results in some readers missing the whole point. This entry seems to be posted around the same time Seth Godin posted a similar one. You also included his blog in the list of blogs you enjoyed reading so I assume you will know what I am talking about.

However, this also contradicts with the saying by Twain where he mentions having to write a longer a letter due to the fact that he did not have enough time to write a shorter one. Sometimes, it is just easier to write a longer one and staying in your comfort zone. Shorter does not necessarily mean easier or more efficient in blogosphere if it decreases the quality of the content.

I also have that English/Turkish blog posts dilemma. I want to be heard by much larger audience than Turkey provides but I'm also Turkish so writing in Turkish and about Turkey seems more natural. So I try to balance the two.

On the other hand, you haven't written any Turkish posts since this message, have you?
